Hotel Jeløy Radio

A hidden gem for summer escapes

As summer approaches, Hotel Jeløy Radio becomes a destination for slow days by the Oslofjord.
For years, our Ugo and Hal sofas have been part of the hotel’s atmosphere, adding color, comfort, and character to the space.

Location: Moss, Norway
Dealer: Expo Nova

-Our guests are enthusiastic about the furniture – it perfectly complements the functionalist architecture. The fact that it’s locally made is something both we and our guests truly appreciate.

— Kirsti Albert, Hotel Manager at Jeløy Radio

Hotel Jeløy Radio began its life not as a hotel, but as a radio station.

Built between 1929 and 1930 by the Norwegian Telegraph Administration, the striking functionalist building was completed in November 1930 as a shortwave radio station — known as “Amerikasenderen,” Norway’s link to the United States. Nearly seven decades later, in May 1997, the building was reborn as a hotel, its bold yellow façade and clean functionalist lines still standing as one of the finest examples of the style along the Oslo fjord.
